To ensure the success of the Program, the university and its agricultural communications alumni and friends established the James F. Evans Endowed Chair in Agricultural Communications. In recognition of Jim Evans’ many years of exemplary service, and as a driving force behind the development of the Agricultural Communications Program at the University of Illinois, the endowed chair was established in his name.
Dr. Jim Evans’ distinguished career spanned 33 years of teaching and research in agricultural communications. He has been recognized nationally for his leadership in an agricultural communications program and recognized internationally for his exceptional academic credentials.
The first-of-its-kind endowed chair in agricultural communications not only strengthens the undergraduate academic program, it also supports teaching and research in the field. The university plans to provide support for two additional teaching positions with enhanced opportunities for graduate studies.
